I kept imagining people laughing manically at it while vowing never to come to this website again. But much to my surprise, I actually got a lot of traffic and helped two people!

I absolutely love the LOMO/ cross-processed look. Once you’re done making your lovely fake LOMO picture you can join in with other fakers on Flickr by joining the LOMO Fakers League group. I would make a dirty joke on faking it, but I’ll refrain this time. ;P

@AY: Aww, thanks so much for the nice comment! I’m glad you found what you were looking for.
Hey! I love this tutorial (along with all your other ones). Unfortunately I have an older version of Photoshop so I don’t have the Lens Correction option. Do you think there are other ways of creating this effect?
Hey there Carly! Thank you so much for your comment! You absolutely can go another way on creating the vignette, which I am assuming you cannot do in your version of Photoshop. Here’s how you can make another vignette:
If you have the Lasso tool you can make a freehand selection, and don’t worry it doesn’t have to be perfect. Make the selection inside the edges of the photograph, and after you are done making it you’ll need to change the feather so the vignette fades out. On the Lasso tool bar you can change the feather, so change that to Feather 80 px or whatever looks best for your photograph. Then invert your selection, Select> Inverse. Then to make the vignette go to Image> Adjustment> Levels, when you get to the Levels dialog box move the middle gray slider a little to the right and that will darken your edges to get the vignette, again experiment for what you think looks good with your photo. It shouldn’t fade all the way to black.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions!
Thanks again!
MY GOD GIRL ! THAT’S WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED TO DO !
I LOVE YOU !

this is a wonderful tutorial but unfortunately i am working in PSE 6.0 so it is almost impossible for me to figure out how to do this as a lot of the options are not the same. is it possible to create such an effect in photoshop elements? i would love to know how if it’s possible!
Kelly Anne Williams

really good, found it to be one of the most advanced lomo tutorials i have seen, got way better results than the others ! thanks
You have absolutely captured the lomo effect 100%.
I love the way you do the tutorials. Thank you for the step by step instructions. They have been the best!
Of all the Lomo tutorials I’ve found online, this is simply the best! The step by step video is brilliant. I had to tweak the steps for PSE but it was worth the trouble. I especially like your method of vignetting. In my opinion it’s much better than using a marquee method.
Thanks so much, you’ve got a new fan!
Kelly Anne,
Love your work! Love the new look to the site! Your site is now my daily routine!
Your guides are sooooo much easier to follow than the “phonebook size PS guide books”!
Keep up the good work!

I love the lomo effect in photoshop, I really want a lomo camera!
Good stuff, keep them coming!
This was SUCH a great lesson! I’ve wondering wondering and wondering how people got this effect. THANK YOU!!!! Great stuff.
I have photoshop 7.0 is there a way to do this tutorial in this particular program? Also, wondering how you can get a glossy look on your photos… i.e. a portrait of someone?
Mine didn’t exactly turn out like yours. I use Corel Paint Shop Pro X2 and the background didn’t turn out like this picture with the blueish color behind it.
