I have a new favorite store–the Photojojo Store. I just found out about the store around a week ago and I cannot believe I hadn’t seen it before even though I had been to the main site and I’m signed up for their newsletter. When I did finally see it, I was instantly filled with glee. And then I saw the Dreamy Diana Lens and felt like I was going to pass out with excitement. I have yet to get a real Diana camera, but I love, like any photographer, getting new gadgets and lenses for my DSLR. The Dreamy Diana Lens is made out of plastic and turns your DSLR into a toy camera with the lo-fi, dreamy, soft focus look I love. The adapter works with Nikon and Canon DSLRs/SLRs and also works with any lens in the Diana line. You could say that this would only save you a few steps in Photoshop by not having to use Gaussian blur, but it just looks like such a fun adapter/lens. Do want!

Eye candy for fisheye photography lovers!

I’m a newbie in the world of Lomography. I just bought my first Lomo in June when I was in Minneapolis at Mall of America. And it was on sale. Score. I have been wanting a Lomo for years ever since I have been faking the effect in Photoshop. It’s not just any Lomo– it’s a fisheye, something I have been so eager to experiment with for years as well. Two birds with one stone, you know?

My new baby!

After buying my new baby I was looking for some Lomo fisheye photos because I wasn’t exactly sure what the photos would look like with a fisheye camera. Enter the super cute photo blog– My Little Fisheye. Candy for the eyes if you love fisheye photography because the blog goes beyond the Lomo. The fisheye is such an interesting twist to point-and-shoot photos.

The Marfa girls are at it again!

Earlier this year I wrote about one of my favorite blogs in all the Internets, the Marfa Trip blog. Something told me to check the blog last night as I was in need of eye candy. To my surprise I saw that there were new photos from their latest adventure in Moab, Utah just screaming my name for them to be drooled over. Of course, I had to sit back down in my office chair first to look at them. The happy just took over and I had to dance. Just look at these landscape shots!

This week I am going to be venturing into the world of bokeh.

What is bokeh, you ask? Bokeh (pronounced “boke-uh”) is the term we use in photography to describe the out-of-focus areas or blur in a photograph. Some people, like myself, just use it specifically to describe the out-of-focus highlights.

Recently I have noticed a ton of amazing photographers using bokeh shots as textures to give photos a more dreamy or whimsical feel. For today I wanted to show you some inspirational photographs that use Bokeh textures and link to some of my favorite bokeh textures. Come back tomorrow and I will show you how to add a bokeh texture to your pictures in my next tutorial!

I have spent the past few days in bed due to being under the weather and I wanted to show you a blog filled to the brim with inspiration that put a serious smile on my face. Last year, 13 brilliant female photographers took a trip to Middleofnowehere, Texas also known as Marfa, Texas. What was created during that week was pure magic. I honestly haven’t been this inspired in a long time. I’m amazed by their attention to detail, really capturing what is all around them. Even the small things, the things I would walk right on by. Not to mention the crazy DoF (depth of field) that’s going on in these photos and the perspectives they chose to shoot the “things” I mentioned earlier. I’m so jealous over here! Though I assume it’s not that hard when you are surround by a place as beautiful and unique as Marfa. Head on over to the Marfa Trip blog for some amazing inspiration!
